Snetterton Race Report

6th April 2007

74 Stock Hatches made the trip to Snetterton. Morning qualifying put me 17th overall with 1:30.28

Started 9th on the grid of 35 for the first heat, after 8 laps I was running 6th, but mechanical problems (turned out to be 2 spark plugs breaking) dropped me 12 places to finish 18th, just making the cut for the final.

New spark plugs, started 36th out of 38 for the final. Race start and I follow Derek Rozier, he goes wide, I pass a number of cars. Into bomb hole I chase the pack. Lap 2 and Nick Carter rolls (you can see it on the clip but blink and you will miss it), bringing out the red flags. I'm gutted as we reassemble by original grid and not track position, so despite making up lots of places, I'm put back to 36th

Restarted race, then again into bomb hole, Matt Foley rejoining the track at the end of the clip. Lap 4 I pass Andy Muggeridge and finish the race 16th

7th April 2007

Saturdays grids are decided by Friday's second fastest qualifying lap, so I'm straight into the final, 17th on the grid of 38 cars, behind Lee Scott and JJ Vannier on video clip. Race start, I'm following Matt Wilkins down the straight, I'm still running 17th when my head gasket blows on lap 8, ending my race.

Will miss Lydden due to work commitments, so next outing Castle Combe 7th May bank holiday Monday
