Brands Race Report
August 12th 2006
Saturday qualified with 1:02.59 putting me on the 9th row for the first heat.
Race start and Tony Taylor and Paul Coulam connect in Paddock Hill Bend, I am hit into Graham Hill Bend, rejoin, but red flags are out. I line up for the restart but am forced to leave the grid as the impact has jammed the passenger door shut and I am not allowed to race for safety reasons. Maurice Hayden wins the final from Martin Boon then Alistair Vannier.

6th on the grid for the heat.
Race start, I manage to get up to 3rd by Druids, despite selecting 5th when looking for 3rd gear off the line. Hold position for the first lap, but gradually fall back as engine overheats, nursing the car home for 7th.
After letting the car cool I am able to make the start for the final, but it is clear that the power is down, so I pull over to prevent further damage to the engine. Long journey home so left before final results were confirmed, soon on 750MC.co.uk
